Any vacation that involves trips to two separate outlet malls is a pretty good one, if you ask me. I promise I will get back to normal outfit posts next week, but in the meantime, I thought I'd share with you the second half of my outlet mall finds. We were at the Premium Outlets in Aurora, IL.
First stop was the Gap, where I didn't venture in when I was in San Marcos. I'm kind of kicking myself for not buying the Banana Republic/Milly Collabo elephant shorts because I love them so much (shown here):
I don't know if those shorts just spawned a weird craving for elephants, but when I saw this top at Gap, I had to try it, and when I tried it, I decided I had to have it. Adorable right?
Every summer I also invest in a new maxi dress. I did buy one from the same Banana/Milly collection, but this one is a little more on the casual side. I was surprised because it's a bit thicker - not super thick, but I just feel like maxi dresses nowadays are a super thin, unforgiving jersey (ladies, you (yes, even you perfectly thin ladies) should turn around and look at your booty in those dresses before you leave the house...) so, I loved that this one had a little more structure to it even though it's not noticeably thicker looking at it. Definitely still lightweight for a casual summer look. The print is awesome.
I did also buy a super cute mix-n-match navy and white printed bikini top and bottom, but I don't think I need to put myself in a bikini out there on the interwebs. The top is navy with a white floral print and the bottoms are navy with white polka dots. Other than that, I found a black and tan sleeveless wrap top and some lime green printed shorts from the Banana Republic Factory store. Unfortunately, I did not photograph those, so you'll just have to trust me that they're amazing finds. The shorts were an additional 40% off.
Of course you know I have to go in the Kate Spade outlet again. I can't not do it. I just can't. I avoided the bags and jewelry this time since I splurged a bit last time. What does that leave? Clothes. I found a couple of really cute peplum tops to try. It was on redonk sale. Original $260ish, on sale for $59. I loved both of them but ended up just getting the black and tan one. Here they are in the cutest dressing room ever.
(Pardon the shorts)
That was enough damage for a second trip, although I know I could have bought more. There were a couple skirts at the JCrew Factory that I ended up putting back. Probably for the best! For my wallet, anyway. Now it's back to reality, back to the chaos of work. I have to say this was quite the random vacation - Alamo, outlet malls, concert, half marathon. It was all pretty great though so I can't complain. I got to see a lot of my favorite people this last week, so that alone was worth it. Now I'm counting down to our beach vacation in September!! Have a great Friday!
