In case you missed my Monday post, I had attempted to wear my silver metallic skirt, but it ended up not looking right. So if you're counting, I have two metallic skirts. Today's and Monday's. Too much? My biggest challenge is trying not to look like a Fembot. Seriously. Which is why I stayed away from knee high boots. Luckily this top was perfect to pair with today's skirt - it was my first choice, so I didn't have to go through a lot of trial and error. I love the circle lace next to the asymmetrical skirt. Geometric dichotomy at its best!
The good (or bad) thing about taking outfit photos everyday is that you see the pictures and sometimes think - OMG is that how I really look?? In this case, it was the fact that the skirt's black liner was peeking out of the bottom. I didn't notice that looking in the mirror getting dressed. We took photos after I got ready, I downloaded the photos onto my iPad during the commute to work (the husband drives), and that's when I noticed the liner showing. It wouldn't go away! Literally, as soon as I got to work, I went to the bathroom with a pair of scissors and trimmed the liner about an inch all the way around. Ahh, so much better - I hate having to fidget and fuss with my clothes to keep things tucked or concealed or whatnot. Too bad I didn't notice it *before* I took these photos. At least you guys know I don't use photoshop! :)

Great choice on the top! It looks perfect with the skirt. And who cares if you have more than one metallic skirt. I love metallics and need to get me one (or two).
ReplyDeleteTracy @Its Mostly About Fashion
Yes, you sure do need them!!
DeleteAnd at least I got one gold/copper and one silver! Variety! ;)
And thank you!
As you know, I notice everything. :) And I don't think I would have noticed the teeeeeeny bit of black lining peeking out if you hadn't pointed it out. That said, it would drive me insane and I would have done the same thing, hee hee. You did a great job of making a metallic skirt look like a neutral!

It was super annoying! I know the skirt is not laying totally flat in the photos, but even standing, not moving and pulling the skirt flat, you could still see the lining! It was so liberating to cut it and not have to think about it again!
DeleteDidn't even think about the metallic skirt as a neutral - thanks for that compliment!
Falling in love with your coat dear :D

My coat says thank you! I remember when i first bought this - I couldn't decide whether I really wanted it. (It was priced around $100.) Well, I decided to go ahead and get it, and then it rung up for less than $50! Had I known that to begin with, I wouldn't have thought twice about buying it! It's really great!
DeleteSuch a pretty outfit! Love the top and your coat!

Thank you! This coat ended up being less than $50! Such a steal and great quality for the price!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous Top & Skirt. They each have so much interest on their own even better when paired together. I hate skirt linings showing so I would have used some scissors also. LOL Your Coat & Necklace are beautiful also. I need/want some more Metallin in my closet. A Skirt like yours would be great. =)
