My Beau

You guys. I freaking love this bag. I love it! I've been coveting the Beau in every color as soon as it was released. But, I needed another bag like I needed a hole in my head, especially at regular price. So I have just been silently envying everyone carrying theirs around like it's no big deal.

You can imagine my delight when I walked into the Kate Spade store in Gardens Mall down in Florida, and saw a sign saying "up to 50% off" over a clothing rack, but next to a few different Beau bags. I let out an audible gasp and immediately asked the SA if that included the Beau. Yep - sure did! The red/pink, blush, and this "French navy" were 40% off. 40%!!!! From there it was just a matter of picking what size and color I wanted! This one is the smaller one - I tried the larger one on and it just felt overpowering to me. This size is still extremely roomy, but can double as an everyday bag vs. solely as a work tote.

I don't know if it's the bag or what, but I'm completely in love with this outfit! I was so excited when Express came out with this "Truly Blue" color for the portofino. It's lightweight and perfect as an alternative to a chambray for hot months! Yes, I know, I needed another portofino like I needed a hole in my head, but can I distract you with my Beau?

    Ah, I love how you put all of these pieces together. And since you didn't already have a Portofino in this color, YES, of course you needed it. It looks great on you. The bag is so cute, just the right size (well, for my personal preference anyway) and such a great complement to this outfit. The whole look is one of my new favorites...it's quite possible I'll be copying it in the near future...

    That is a great bag! I also don't like big purses. It seems like they are getting bigger and bigger. It is hard to find one that is just the right size. I think I may need to get that Portofino. I am returning one in another color today. Hmmmm.

    Ahh I love the color of your beau bag!! I did not even know they came in multiple sizes until I read your post. I like the size you picked... I agree that the larger ones can be just a bit too spacious!

      Yep - two sizes, which is good because that also means two price points! The big one is seriously more of an overnight bag! I mean, I wouldn't turn it down if someone bought me one as a gift… :)

      (At least that's how I justify spending sometimes…)
      I literally texted the husband immediately when I saw the bag and said - OMG the Beau is 40% off!!
      Which really meant "I'm buying, not asking for permission!"
      He didn't argue though. He understood! :)
