Well, it's been about a year since I've worn this dress - that's the beauty of blogging is that I always *know* when I've worn something. If you're interested, you can see this here. It has been raining non stop for about an eternity I feel, and I just needed something frilly to make me happy. A pleated, full skirted dress and some emerald suede shoes will do that for me!
You guys have been seeing this hair style a lot lately! I used to do it a ton when I had long, side swept bangs, but ever since I grew them out a couple years ago, I never thought this stye would work anymore, so I would either just pin them to the side like this or pull and puff my hair straight back like this. Both of those are fine, but I don't know what it is about this particular style that makes me feel more "fancy." It's really not any different than pulling my hair straight back, just that I add a hint of a part. Weird that little details like that make big differences - at least to me! And what's even better is that this is how I style it when I don't have time to style my hair, so feeling fancy anyway is an added bonus! What's your go to hairstyle right now when you don't have time to "do" it?

I think this dress type is my favorite silhouette on you. So flattering and feminine! You're lucky to have soooooo many styling options for your hair! I have two these days. Normal and Hat.

Well you look great in a hat! And I'm not sure more options necessarily = luckier! But thank you.
DeleteI agree, this is my favorite shape to shop for with dresses! When skater skirts started becoming a thing, it was great bc I was able to achieve this silhouette with skirts too!
Love the fit of that dress so ladylike :)
ReplyDeleteI love the fit of this dress, too! And the material is thicker and provides more structure. It's great!
DeleteI adore the texture of your dress! I have a similar dress (minus the great texture) & they are just a great "staple" to have! Wish we could order that mint necklace online ;-)

DeleteHappy Belated Birthday!!!! I love a full skirt and adding the turquoise pops of color is definitely making this look FAB. Your hair does make you look a little more glam when it's pulled up like that. Feel like I'm watching one of the ladies on Mad Men....love those looks!!!! Hope you had a great birthday and looking forward to you linking up with us tomorrow on Thrift Sisters.

DeleteA pretty dress is the perfect way to cheer yourself up after raining days! Your hair looks great like that so I say keep styling it that way...of course that comes from a gal who only styles her hair two different ways. lol.
