Oh my goodness, you guys! It's been such a fun and amazing trip! Jenna could not be a more perfect travel partner! If you've been following along on Snapchat (carylee07), I'm sure you're getting an NYC overload! I will have to give you the proper download in another post, but for now, I wanted to share some photos from last night's rewardStyle NYFW party! Naturally, let's start with the outfit!
Originally, I was planning on wearing this dress that I ordered from Amazon and totally packed with me. You can see the flat lay I did for this outfit here. I loved the dress a lot, but it somehow felt a little too sweet for me. The print is perfect and the colors make me happy, but for an event like this, I wanted something that had a little bit more edge to it. I wasn't overly stressed about it, but as we were shopping on Saturday evening, I managed to find this top at H&M and fell in love. I thought it would look fabulous with black tuxedo style shorts, but of course, I could not find any. Instead, I found this body con skirt with the mesh bottom panel at Macy's. It felt perfect together. It ended up being a miracle on 34th Street! (See what I did there?)
Sunnies: Ray Ban | Earrings: Kendra Scott (c/o) | Necklace: Kendra Scott (c/o) | Bracelet: Kendra Scott (c/o) Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (option other fall colors HERE) | Top: H&M (other pattern here) | Bracelet: Kendra Scott (c/o) | Skirt: BCBGeneration | Heels: Valentino (option)
Another little miracle is that our hotel ended up being right across the street from a fashion show venue - Skylight at Moynihan Station. The people watching has been fabulous to say the least! The hotel has been a great central location to everywhere we've had to be, and check out our awesome backdrop to our photos!
I'm sure you've been seeing bits and pieces of the party on Instagram - if not, just scroll through the "rSnyfw" hashtag. You'll see the cute little rooftop spot with little rewardStyle details sprinkled all over the place. Photo ops everywhere, from shoefie spots to a hashtagged pool. Everything was pretty cleverly decorated, I must say!
As soon as we got off the elevator, I literally screamed because the first person I saw was Erica. I didn't expect to see her there at all! Amy Ann and I had already been exchanging messages and texts, so I was definitely excited and had anticipated meeting her, but Erica was a total surprise. I immediately had to take a selfie because it was surreal being in the same room as these ladies!
In true blogger form, we definitely made sure to get proper photos as well. It was so jam packed though - I'm not sure how we managed to clear the floor at times to take photos. It was literally elbow to elbow in here - CRAZY. I joked that the place had to be so flammable from all the hairsprayed heads meandering about. Ha!
We knew rain was in the forecast, though the percent chance of rain had decreased from what the Weather Channel app was telling us from the night before. Luckily, a majority of the rooftop setup was covered, so Jenna and I managed to stay dry.
And one more with me and Amy Ann. I was surprised she was so tall! When we were texting, I had told her that I planned to wear my tallest platform heels since Jenna is so tall and she was going to be my date. Those sandals ended up not working out with the dress I had planned to wear, nor would they have looked right with this outfit either. So, I did opt for high heels, but I could have gained a healthy inch if I had a platform also! So funny that I'm in 4" heels and Amy Ann is practically in flats and she is still much taller than me! She is stunning, no?
I have so much more to talk about, but I am racing against a dying laptop battery right now! More to come! Happy Monday!
