I can't even tell you how excited I am for this collaboration! You see, I stumbled upon Shawna's blog a couple of years ago, and she quickly became one of my blog crushes. I love her quirky personality that comes across in her photos, I love her writing style, and most importantly, I love her outfits. When she asked if I wanted to collaborate with her, I felt like a celebrity was reaching out to me! If you are new to her blog, I hope you'll pop on over and check it out here and that you'll find her to be as much of a style inspiration as I do!
The title of today's collab speaks for itself. I couldn't survive without a chambray (or 7) in my closet. It's a holy grail piece, and Shawna came up with the idea of styling it for day and then for play. Let's get started!
chambray for day
Sunnies: Ray Ban | Scarf: Nordstrom | Vest: JCrew Factory (option) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Chambray: JCrew Factory (option) | Leggings: Express (option) | Booties: Dolce Vita
I feel like this is the stereotypical blogger uniform - chambray, scarf, leggings, boots. I'm not going to fight it though. The formula works so for me, it's about finding pieces that make it special like this bag and these booties. This is definitely an easy-to-throw-on outfit, and I'm one thousand percent comfortable in it.
And can we talk about the fall colors for a second? Jenna and I went to the Laumeier Sculpture Park over the weekend to take some blog photos, and it turned out to be the perfect weather and the perfect setting. This outfit definitely mimics the colors of my surroundings beautifully.
chambray for play
Sunnies: Ray Ban | Necklace: Charming Charlie (c/o) | Bag: Nordstrom | Dress: Charming Charlie (c/o) | Heels: Louise et Cie (other colors here)
Any time I can find a dress that I can layer both over AND under is a true winner in my book. This is definitely one of those dresses. An easy way to transition your sleeveless dresses into fall is by layering them over a chambray. Ditching the heels for tights and knee high boots pushes this outfit back into the "for day" category, too!

Make sure to see details of Shawna's outfits in her post HERE. We're thinking of doing another one of these collaborations again, soon, so if there are any special requests on what you'd like to see styled, I would love to read about it in the comments!

What a fun collaboration Caryl. All 4 outfits are fantastic. I love your "Chambray for Play" look. I will try my chambray under a black sleeveless dress too. Your pumps, purse and bracelets on the second look are gorgeous too and so are the scarf and boots from the first outfit.

ReplyDeleteGirl, you are TOO kind! Thank you for your sweet words! I had such a blast collaborating with you on this post and look forward to doing it again. While I love both looks, I really like how you styled your "for play" outfit. I, too, love layering button-downs beneath my dresses, it's a great way to transition them into fall! xoxo
