First off, thank you for everyone's sweet comments last week about my job post. I received so much positive feedback about sharing a little bit more of my personal life that I feel like I really need to be doing that more often. I appreciate you all taking the time to read through that post plus leave me so many nice notes! I definitely agree that it's great to hear what a blogger does in real life. Much of what we share on the interwebs is related to real life, but not enough to where you get to really know the person. I will try and do more posts like that in the future!
Now onto today's post! I realize by the time you are reading this, it is Monday, but right now as I write this, it is actually Friday night, our first night in Florida! We are here just for the weekend. We came down to see the Cardinals play a couple of spring training baseball games and I am just too excited!
Packing for this trip was relatively easy as I just needed to keep things on the casual side. The only thing I needed to really worry about picking a legitimate outfit for was a special dinner, which I will blog about on Wednesday! But for this outfit, I just grabbed one of the Gap striped tees I just ordered knowing that it would pair just fine with shorts or jeans. Since I wore this to dinner Friday night, I whipped out my heels, which I should add, may be the most comfy heels I own. I am seriously contemplating another color because I could walk forever in these heels!
Friday was awesome because we really didn't have any plans for the day. We left at 8:15 in the morning and had a direct flight into Ft. Lauderdale, which subsequently ended up being a half hour early! Shake Shack is my weakness, and the husband discovered on a recent work trip that there is one in Boca Raton, so we headed there straight from the airport. After lunch, we went north towards our hotel, which was in West Palm Beach, but made a pit stop at a local salon because I was in dire need of a mani-pedi. The husband actually agreed to get a pedi with me, and I don't know why that just rocks my world!
The salon was conveniently located within a mall, so we did some window shopping afterwards. I ended up ordering a pair of Nikes I liked from one of the stores and picked up an outfit from Express, which you may have caught snippets of on Snapchat. (Again, you'll see more of this outfit on Wednesday.) We finally checked into our hotel around 5pm.
(See how my iPhone photo turned out here)
We have been to spring training one other time before along with dinner at this place called Captain Charlie's Reef Grill, which we both loved! Somehow, the husband still remembered where this was at (we couldn't remember the restaurant name), so we managed to eat there a second time. It doesn't disappoint, and if you are in the area, I highly recommend!
I realize there is nothing overly exciting about this outfit, but I honestly feel like that's pretty common when it comes to travel attire. I'm all about packing stuff that is easily mixed and matched, with as little fuss as possible, and this outfit passed all those tests!
It will be a short blogging week for me since my blog time will be limited here in Florida, but I will be back Wednesday and Friday with more stuff for you to chew on! Until then, have a great week and thanks for linking up!!!

I too loved striped shirts. They go with everything and you can even dress them up a bit by adding glam accessories. The red heels are great as well and if they are comfy, go for a second color. It's so hard to find really really comfortable heels.

You silly, you're underrating this outfit by saying there's "nothing exciting" about it. It's SO cute. The stripe tee (which I want now, thanks), the killer shoes, the cute clutch. I love it! Also love the pic of your phone taking a pic of your mani! So clever! And so glad you were rewarded with good feedback on your career post! It was a great read and I'm sure it was time consuming to put together!
