a Rafflecopter giveaway
Well, vacation is over and I'm back to the real world! I will be recapping every last detail of my trip throughout the week, so at least I have the memories to hold on to for the time being to help ease back into real life! The short story is that it was a blast. We are known for doing our weeklong vacations somewhere international, usually Mexico, but I have to admit, it was nice to eat American food, not worry about accidentally drinking the water, and being able to make a Target run when we realized we needed something. I felt silly telling people we were going to Orlando - it seems like a random destination for a couple without kids, but we really went for the resort first and foremost not really thinking about the theme parks.
For the most part, I relied on shorts and tee shirts to get me through the week. I ended up running out of time (per usual) and was rushing to get packed. Rather than stress about making interesting or blog-worthy outfits, I just threw together easy things that didn't require much thought. I purchased this romper a few weeks ago with this trip in mind. I knew it was coming with me, and I saved it for our nicest dinner.
We ate at a seafood restaurant called Eddie V's based off a recommendation from a co-worker who used to live in Orlando. It definitely lived up to our expectations and then some! Needless to say, counting calories went out the window, and we just enjoyed every last bite. We started with some Blue Point oysters because I can't not order oysters if they're on the menu. They were delicious. Seriously. Then the husband ordered seafood chowder and I had shrimp and lobster bisque. I snapped all these foods, but I wish I took proper photos so you guys can salivate with me! For our entrees, he ordered a filet and I ordered the scallops. The sides were family style, so we shared some truffle mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. And if that (and our bottle of wine) wasn't enough, we finished everything off with a bananas foster dessert that came with a side of butter pecan ice cream. YUM. I'm not even a huge banana person, but it was amazing.
Like I said, I'll be sharing more about the trip including details on our resort, my trip necessities, what I've learned about time shares, and what we did at Universal Studios every day this week. I hope you'll tune in and enjoy reliving it with me! In the meantime, I am kicking off May with another giveaway for you! Enter using the Rafflecopter below! Each task completed earns you one entry. You do not have to complete all entries - enter once or enter 15 times! If you're already following me on Bloglovin, Facebook, or Instagram, that automatically gives you three entries - just be sure to enter your information into the Rafflecopter to make it official! I've been to Orlando twice this year...three weeks total, and have only spent two days of that time in theme parks. There is so much to see and do in the Orlando area other than theme parks. I've been blogging about my trips every Wednesday. Love your romper, gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is your color! I love rompers for trips - a one piece outfit. I think Orlando sounds great, and all your snaps looked so fun. Glad you enjoyed it! Oh, and calories never count on vacation. ;)
