These shorts and this bag have my heart right now! Two recent purchases and I just can't get enough of them! I've been wanting a new pair of soft shorts for the season, and these really are perfect. The berry color is inherently fall for me, so I thought they would be difficult to style, but with the bright dot top and nude sandals, I felt perfectly summer! And this tote! I'm kicking myself for not getting it sooner! It really is the BEST carry-all tote. I could literally hold my life in this bag! Highly recommend!
In honor of the What's Up Wednesday linkup with Mel, Shay, and Sheaffer, I decided to play along and answer the questions to finish off this post! Enjoy!
What we're eating this week:
I'm kind of sad because our local food delivery service is closed for the next two weeks for maintenance stuff and the holiday. We have seriously been LOVING everything we've been getting. Such a great service with savory food. The time and calories we are saving make this service invaluable. Last week we had some short ribs with sticky rice and Asian vegetables, parmesan lemon chicken with asparagus, and French dip sandwiches with an Italian salad. Yup, amazing.
What I'm reminiscing about:
One of my friends was fostering a 13 year old Golden Retriever, but then decided to make it official and adopt the sweet girl. She already had two Goldens of her own and she seemed to be adapting to the family, showing signs of breakthrough and engagement. My friend knew the pup's time was limited and wanted to make sure her last days were sweet ones. Two days after she officially adopted her, she ended up passing. She stopped eating and was unable to move. The vet found a tumor on her heart. While it's a heartbreaking ending, it makes me happy that she was able to shower this doggy for her last few weeks here. And that made me reminisce about our beagle and rat terrier -- how we rescued them and how much love they've given to us in return!
What I'm loving:
This bag, duh. I mean seriously, look at it!
What we've been up to:
Not much really. Nothing new anyway - just work and typical adult stuff. June was a relatively stress-less month, especially as compared to how May was! We do still plan to go on another vacation in September, and hopefully we will be booking something shortly!
What I'm dreading:
I'm both dreading and looking forward to two days of department meetings today and tomorrow. While I love having the entire department together, it definitely turns into two really long days with early mornings and dinners that turn into after parties sometimes.
What I'm working on:
I have been anxiously planning my yoga and style workshop that's set to take place next month! I've never hosted a blogger type event by myself before, much less a yoga related one! Between finalizing the guest list, lining up door prizes, and strategizing goodie bags, it's quite extensive! If you're local to the St. Louis area, you should please please come!
What I'm excited about:
One of my Instagram friends, Ailsa, texted me a before and after pic of herself. She said she read my blog post about my fitness update and thought, "I want that." After 5 weeks of hard core working out, she's already shown amazing progress and that makes my heart so happy that my post contributed to her motivation!
What I'm watching:
Shark Tank! This show is one of the few shows I watch on TV that isn't baseball! I love it. And I've also bought a few things because of this show. It's how I first discovered Grace and Lace!
What I'm listening to:
Can't Stop the Feeling on repeat. Seriously. Occasionally, I like to do Lip Sync Car Karaoke on Snapchat (carylee07) and I swear I feel compelled to do this song every. Single. Time. It comes on! It's just so good!
What I'm wearing:
I started a new hashtag on Instagram called #caryleeroundup which is basically all of my random outfit selfies from the front view that have accumulated throughout the week. Check it out to see my latest!
What I'm doing this weekend:
We have two Cardinals games to go to and two parties to go to! Sounds busy, but I'm really excited. I swear we aren't socialites, but when it rains, it pours, and we are suddenly double booked with two parties back to back on Sunday for the holiday.
What I'm looking forward to next month:
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!!!! Woooohooo! It's the happiest time of the year! I've saved up all of my Nordstrom notes since last year's sale, so I have almost $400 in "free" money to spend on the sale. I'm seriously excited. It's the one time of the year that the husband doesn't question my shopaholicism. It's basically like Black Friday but in the summer!
What else is new:
I just got a new-to-me iPad with 4G LTE! The good thing about being married to the husband is the fact that he always wants the new electronics. He just bought the iPad Pro, which is ginormous, but he eventually wants to not have to travel with his laptop anymore, only this iPad. That means I got to inherit his old iPad with data and we will sell my iPad Air that was just wifi enabled. I really only use my iPad for photos, Netflix, and the Kindle app, but it's nice to have the internet on it wherever I go!
Okidoke! Time for bed, hope you have a great rest of the week!!
SHOP THE LOOK:
I can see why you love those shorts and the bag so much. Adorable! And I love your question and answers. It was fun to read about what your up to, as well as inspiring.

This s is such a fun outfit and fun post. Having an iPad with 4g would be so handy!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit. I used to shy away from shorts, but I think the addition of the trim makes them feel more special! That and the color is fabulous!

I loved your explanation on snap about the lens situation! You're right, big difference! We don't have a fancy lens yet but I want to invest in one! And you look so pretty in those berry shorts. The color pops with the tan tote. Good luck with your meetings! Nate and I have a lunch date tomorrow at panera :) I always think of you when I eat there
ReplyDeleteLove reading these updates and this outfit is the cutest. I need a new ipad too, I'm still rocking my ipad 2 lol.

OH love those shorts! I definitely want more soft relaxed fit shorts like this when summer rolls around here - I only have one pair and the rest are denim, haha! That is a great bag too, perfect for holding everything!
