Fall is such a happy season for me in terms of outfits! The temperature has been absolutely perfect lately to start introducing lighter layers into my looks. I have to use all my strength not to wear olive every. Single. Day. As I was putting together this outfit though, I loved the idea of a blue and grey palette! I stumbled upon this scarf last week and fell in love with the fringe and fall colors. It was the perfect finishing touch!
I bought this Express One Eleven top in olive last fall and decided that I needed another color. As you can see, it's got a high-low hem, which makes it perfect to throw on over leggings. It has a nice relaxed fit without being too oversized. I'm wearing a small.
Now let's talk about these boots! Marmi reached out to me to see if I would provide an honest product review in exchange for a pair of boots. As I started looking through the list of options they sent me, these beauties stopped me in my tracks. I loved them because of their stacked heel, the studs (duh), and the taller shaft - not quite a mid-shaft height, but definitely taller than your typical booties.
I have never shopped Marmi before, not for any real reason, I just didn't know anything about them. I have definitely seen their retail stores and I've noticed that some of their Vaneli branded products are also sold in Nordstrom. Now that I've had a chance to touch and feel and wear a pair, I would say that if Cole Haan and Naturalizer were to have a shoe baby, they would name it Marmi. They're made for fit and function and have the attention to detail as a designer label would. How freaking awesome do they look with leggings? I am obsessed!! I also have my eye on these peep toes. The thick buckle detail and cobalt color make my heart palpitate!
We had zero plans this weekend, which was nice! I wish I could say that meant I was all caught up on life, but that is not the case. Oh well! We did manage to go out and watch Deepwater Horizon. It was awesome, though it's pretty rare that I not like a movie that is based on a true story. Just knowing that something actually happened in real life makes it all the more fascinating. We also watched the Netflix documentary about Amanda Knox. Also very good, but scary for several reasons. Geez. I was happy though that unlike Making of a Murderer, there was (somewhat) clear resolution at the end, and I didn't have to watch 10 episodes to get there!
That's all I have for you today! Hope your first week of October is a good one!! (How the heck is it October?!)
Love the colourful scarf with your outfit, but those boots are definitely the best piece, they are so cool with the studs! Awesome you got to try them out.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend look you've created. Who doesn't enjoy wearing leggings and a tunic for the comfort they offer but the vest/scarf combo definitely adds a twist to the outfit. Absolutely adorable.
