Floral is having such a big moment in my wardrobe right now, so when I saw this romper for just under $25, I knew I had to snag it while it was still available. It's hard to beat an entire outfit for $25! Just add some shoes and simple accessories and voila, you are all set! I wore this on Saturday to take his mom to our favorite brunch spot for an early Mother's Day celebration. They aren't open on Sundays, which is why we decided to observe the holiday on Saturday instead. The temps were in the high 70s, low 80s, so this easy number was the perfect fit! And it was very forgiving for all the food I inhaled, too!
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Quay "High Key" | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Elisa" (other colors,/ metals here) | Bag: Tory Burch (option, budget option) | Romper: American Eagle "AEO wrap romper" | Shoes: Vince Camuto (option, option) ---
The fit
Based on the reviews, I sized down and ordered an extra small. I am religiously a size small in tops and dresses at American Eagle, so I definitely agree that this runs just a little bit big. I find that rompers tend to be really short waisted, and while I myself am short waisted, I like for my waistbands to fall a little bit lower to help with my proportions. I feel like this one has a little bit of a longer torso to it, which I appreciate.
Dramatic, romantic design
The bell sleeves give so much drama to this romper, which makes me so happy! The blush color, the floral print, the bell sleeves - all of this makes the romper special and a little dressier than your typical warm-weather-onesie. I ended up wearing flat sandals with this to brunch, but I wanted to show how easy it is to dress this up with simple pumps and a metallic clutch. I had three mimosas at brunch, and having to get in and out of this in the bathroom was not a big ordeal. Yes, you do basically still need to get nekked, but it wasn't too much of a hassle.
There is definitely no shortage of floral romper options out there! I found a few more that are swoon-worthy below the $25 price point if you are interested!

I'm trying to get myself back into my normal routine this week. Last week was difficult, though being able to go to work and stay busy helped keep me from crying 24/7. I can't thank you enough for all of the sweet notes and comments you all have sent me throughout these last few days. It means so much to know that you care about us and our little pup, and your comforting words helped carry us through such an emotional week. I'm still heartbroken, I'm not sure that's something that ever goes away. But you do just have to accept it and move forward, trying to focus on the good memories we had with him! His oncologist sent us a sympathy card with such a powerful note inside. It makes me cry to read it, but happy at the same time:
Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you....
I loved you so -
'twas heaven here with you.
Oh that's a beautiful poem to have in your card. I'm glad you're remembering the happy times with your beautiful pup.
ReplyDeleteOn an outfit note, that's a lovely floral romper too - such a nice print! :)
Thank you for the link up!
Hope you have had a wonderful weekend :)
Away From The Blue Blog
I'm so sorry for your loss. I just read your post from last week and you had me in tears. It will be one year next month since we had to put our dog down but it still feels like it was yesterday. Pita was 14 and had been suffering from seizures and also had a tumour on her brain. I completely understand wondering if it was the right time when you can still see that last bit of fight in them. You were such a good mom to him and I know your heart is breaking but you did the right thing. Sending lots hugs and prayers to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteOn a lighter note, your floral romper is so cute. It's so perfect for summer! I love a good romper or jumpsuit until I have to use the bathroom. lol

I love this romper...I think I am partial to the ones that look more like a dress with the wide and flowing shorts. This looks so pretty on you. I am so glad you are able to get back to a routine. Loss is never an easy transition to make. Keeping you in my thoughts.

What a darling romper and killer price! I need to start browsing AE a little more! How thoughtful of your oncologist to send a note! Loss is unbearable sometimes and pretty much the worst part of life when we are forced to bear it. Sending lots of love and support!

Love this romper and the girly yet elegant way you styled it. One of these days I need to visit American Eagle. You always find such cute things there!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
That romper is hands down the best and classiest I've seen! I love that it has long sleeves so you feel more covered. I'll have to stop in at AE. And that quote from the oncologist...water works over here! I'm happy it is comforting you in some way.
ReplyDeleteThat note says alot. Things will be back on track.
