As bloggers, we can get a lot of scrutiny by saying we are "obsessed" with a new purchase, especially if that purchase only shows up in our feed that one time. I can certainly appreciate how disingenuous that may seem! But let's be real. People prefer buying the exact pieces we wear vs. the "similar" items we may link to (which is kind of disheartening because it takes time to research and link to those similar items!) So, once something is no longer available, the less likely you may end up seeing it showcased on the blog or on social media. But that doesn't mean those obsession items go unworn! Thanks to me taking outfit selfies every time I get dressed, and sharing these selfies with you through these random roundup posts, you are able to see old favorites over and over again. I thought I would pull together some older posts so you can see how I've styled some pieces now and then.
Grey and Ivory striped top
Earrings: Nickel and Suede | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Aiden" | Top: The Fashion Lane Truck | Bracelet: Kendra Scott "Candice" | Bottoms: American Eagle | Wedges: Steven by Steve Madden
Original post here
I mentioned in my "Buying Lately" post earlier this week that I am looking to build my collection of tops that are both non-flowy and hit me around hip level. This top has had such staying power in my wardrobe because it meets both of those criteria. It's easy to throw on with denim of any color and doesn't wrinkle. I do think it's funny that I'm wearing the same wedges in both outfits though!
Floral muscle tank
Original post here
This top is almost as old as my blog! The floral print has a nice grandma-couch feel that I have not gotten tired of - it still makes me happy season after season. Just like the striped top, it's easy to throw on with any kind of bottom. Lately when I've been wearing it, I've been doing my faux knot trick to tighten up the silhouette a bit.
Solid-colored Barcelona cami
Earrings: Charming Charlie "Austin" (c/o) (other colors here) | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Rayne" (gifted) (similar color here) | Top: Express "Barcelona" cami (option) | Bottoms: American Eagle | Shoes: Kate Spade "Licorice" (limited sizes)
Express' Barcelona cami has been as iconic as the Portofino top, but it looks like its life is coming to an end! It was definitely a great base layer and the colors it came in were gorgeous! Lucky for you, Gina put together a pretty extensive review and comparison post here if you're looking for an alternative! I do love that I can wear it on its own, or under a vest/ jacket, or tucked into a skirt. It was particularly warm the day I wore the light pink one, so I kept things easy with jeans and my happiest floral pumps.
Floral maxi dress
Earrings: Nickel and Suede | Necklace: Charming Charlie | Dress: Forever 21 | Wedges: Steven by Steve Madden
I will be crushed the day this dress ever dies on me! It's such a good maxi dress and I love the way it fits and flows. It's perfect for days that I don't feel like wearing pants but also don't have energy to shave my legs! Ha! It's been on the blog a few times now and I'm sure you will see it again in the future! Don't you love having pieces who can stand the test of time like this!
Whew! Hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane! I always love looking back at ways I've styled the same pieces. And it's fun to give older posts some new clicks, too! Have a great weekend!
SHOP THE POST:
I need similar tops as well that are not flowy and hit right at the hips, they are quite hard to find. Love seeing how you wore each piece in the past.

This was such a fun post. I love seeing the different ways you styled some of your favorite pieces. And I try not to use the word "obsessed" or the phrase "I wear it all the time" because as you said...it comes back to bite when you can't link to it anymore and can't find anything similar!
