Last week my trip to/from Chicago went awry thanks to ridiculous thunderstorms. My quick day trip turned into a 22 hour work day and me getting home at 1 o'clock in the morning. The upside is that we woke up to amazing weather. Yesterday the temps barely broke 70 degrees. Crazy right? How did we go from triple digits and one thousand percent humidity to 60-degree weather? I am not complaining though. I welcome the relief from the heat.
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Quay "High Key" | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff "Regan" (similar) | Sweater: CS Gems (Use code CARYLEE15 for 15% off!) | Bralette: CS Gems | Bottoms: American Eagle (option) | Shoes: BCBGeneration "Jaze" (option) ---
I rolled out of bed at a reasonable time yesterday morning AND decided to shower - washing my hair and everything! That was motivation enough to put on real clothes. This sweater is an easy thin knit, not much thicker than your typical t-shirt, which is nice! I really wanted to wear this bralette too! It's really comfortable! The larger straps felt great, I really didn't feel like I was wearing a bra at all, nor did I have to wear a strapless bra for additional support under it. Two thumbs up!
This sweater will easily pair with your basic black leggings or black, white, grey, or traditional blue denim. It would even look great with olive skinnies! I love the way mustard and wine pair together, so I dusted off these wine skinnies. Leopard is always a natural accent print when I think about wine and mustard together!
If you're looking for a transitional sweater, this is a good one! I could even wear this to teach Pilates, which makes me happy. I love when pieces can serve all facets of my lifestyle! I'm wearing a small in both the sweater and the bralette and if you're interested in either, you can use code CARYLEE15 for 15% off!
Speaking of lifestyle, I have been feeling really overwhelmed the last few weeks. Work travel has truly drained me to the point where all I want to do is sleep all day. But if I slept all day that means I will be even more behind on life. I've realized that everyone is tired. Everyone has things to do but we all get through it! Fridays I have my lunch time Pilates class, and I was THISCLOSE to canceling it because I am so behind at work. But the more I thought about it - missing that hour class wouldn't grossly put me ahead at work. I would still be behind regardless. So if I'm going to be behind, I may as well be in good shape in the process! So I went to class, and I felt great afterwards.
I then took a Pilates and a Barre class on Saturday morning, and I spent Saturday night watching some Pilates videos. It felt great to submerge myself in all of that again. I missed it. And you know what? I had a great night's sleep and I feel rested as a write this post. The moral of the story is - we all find our strength somewhere, right? Hopefully I can continue to push through this lull and start feeling like I have my life together again!
I like the colours of your outfit, and you're right that leopard print is the perfect accessory! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad that you're starting to see the end of your crazy work hours and have a method to re centre yourself in all the madness! :)

Sorry you're feeling so drained right now! I think it must be that time of year because I've been reading this on other blogs and feeling this a lot lately too. We can make it though and I think your experience just goes to show that even when you're busy you can't put off the little joys. I find that even an hour doing something that gives me separation from my worries and anxieties helps me get the energy I need to run back into the rat race! Hope you catch up and feel better soon!

I would love a thinner knit sweater like yours since fall is pretty mild in North Carolina.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute sweater with the bralette peeking out! I agree regarding a lull. We all go through it, just some lulls last longer than others. I'm glad you're feeling better and have picked back up with pilates! Do what you love!
