Happy Monday! I'm excited for a week of no travel!! Last week was super hectic with 3 different trips plus being sick, one ear that never popped from a plane ride, having my girl time, oh and having zero voice. I'm glad I went to Urgent Care before I left for Boulder because I know my symptoms would still be lingering had it not been for the antibiotics and cough meds! Anyway, I'm feeling much, much better today because my girl time is basically over, voice is 80% there, and I haven't had to take a cough drop in two full days. #winning Let's get on with today's outfit!
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Ray Ban | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Cory" (other colors here) | Top: Grace and Lace (c/o) | Tank: Grace and Lace | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Leggings: Zella | Boots: Sole Society "Calypso" ---
I've had this top for a couple weeks now but I wasn't able to share it with you until Grace and Lace officially launched it on their website! It's definitely one of my most favorite pieces from Grace and Lace to date. It's made of a super soft, thin flannel-ish material, so it's lightweight enough for the 60s, but will be a great layering piece later, too. You know I love plaid. You know I love olive. The wrap design of this shirt makes it even more feminine and special than your typical flannel. I'm wearing a small.
It was probably a bit premature to whip out the over-the-knee boots, but I tried on other boots/booties with this outfit and I loved how the proportions of this boot balanced out the top half of the look in both scale and color. And I know I wear this tank basically with everything, but the tunic length is extremely versatile as a base layer with leggings. Stripes this size and plaid pair really effortlessly together.
I was so excited to see these boots re-released for this season! They were a reader favorite last year, so if you missed them originally, hopefully you have plenty of time to snag them this year! They fit like a glove and the color is a really perfect neutral. Normally I see suede over-the-knee boots priced between $150-$200, so at $129.95, these are great. Plus, if you've never ordered anything from Sole Society before, you can get 15% off your first full-price items over $80 by signing up to receive emails. Factor in free shipping and that's a pretty good price for a whole lotta boot! I live in the St. Louis area where it can get slushy in the winter. I treat all my suede boots/shoes with this spray before I wear them, and well... generally avoid jumping in mud and puddles.
I have a feeling this is one of those tops I will be reaching for often in the fall. I wanted to share 3 other ways I had in mind to style them in case you're interested!
Outfit #1 (left): Over a tank dress + heels
I picked a pair of my lace up heels to finish off the look, but it would work fine with any neutral colored pump. I didn't like the proportions as much with nude booties because they felt too chunky at my feet, but you can play with that silhouette to see what works best with your body type.
Variation a: I picked navy for the dress to pull out the navy in the shirt, but I would love to see it over an olive tank dress for a tone on tone look, too!
Outfit #2 (middle): Under a utility vest + white skinnies + cognac booties
There is a little bit of a burgundy/pinkish pop in the shirt, so I definitely wanted to wear it under my wine colored utility vest.
Variation a: Really, any of your standard colored utility or puffer vest would work just as well with this outfit - olive, khaki, grey, ivory, navy, even the infamous herringbone vest.
Variation b: You can skip the white skinnies and do regular denim, black denim, grey denim.
Variation c: You can skip the vest and do wine colored bottoms instead of the white bottoms! (I probably would not do a wine vest with wine bottoms.) Or if you want to keep the vest with your wine colored skinnies switch to a light grey, ivory, or khaki vest.
Variation d: Cognac knee high or over the knee boots instead of the booties. Or go matchy matchy with wine colored pumps or booties.
Outfit #3 (right): On its own with denim + sneakers
And obviously it looks great all on its own, too.
Variation a: I did destroyed denim to make it extra casual with my Adidas, but regular non-ripped denim is certainly just as good.
Variation b: Any denim bottom would work just the same - denim shorts, denim skirt, even denim trousers. It's all the same outfit formula!
So there is your Monday outfit inspiration for you! Hope everyone has a great week!
