Happy Monday! May is about halfway over and it's already feeling like summer in these parts. I'm not sure if I'm quite happy about that or not! It's nice to feel some warmth on my skin, but it would have been nice to enjoy a bit of spring before we just jumped head first into summer!! Regardless, I found this dress a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with it instantly. It made for the perfect brunch-style outfit, too, for Mother's Day yesterday!
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Quay "Muse" | Earrings: Nickel and Suede (in large nude cut-out) | Bag: Nickel and Suede | Dress: Evereve | Shoes: DV Dolce Vita (options here and here) ---
I'm crazy about anything embroidered, so this dress stole my heart immediately. I also thought the length was perfect for me. I think it's supposed to fall more "tea" length on a normal sized person, but hitting me right at my ankle was perfect! And it was nice that I didn't feel like I was going to fall on my face, tripping over the hemline when I was walking up or down stairs. I am wearing an extra small.
Even though I'm not a mom (a human mom anyway....), I had no shame in taking advantage of the Mother's Day sale over at Nickel and Suede. I got these earrings in the large nude cut out as well as in the red (for baseball games, duh.) Although I generally don't go for my hair all up, I preferred it up vs. down with this dress. And having my hair out of my face also allowed the earrings to speak for themselves!
This little bag is adorable! They call it a "market" tote, and it would look ridiculously cute carrying your fresh fruit home from the farmers market. I used it as my bag for brunch - throwing my necessities in it. It's extremely lightweight making it easy to carry, and it adds some fun character to this outfit.
I was originally planning to wear my nude sandals with this dress. The dress is so voluminous, so I didn't want to wear anything too chunky on my feet. I decided to try these strappy cognac sandals and was pleasantly surprised how much more I preferred them over the barely-there nude sandals. They ground the outfit without stealing the attention too much.
As far as the rest of my weekend, it was pretty productive! I *finally* finished the Pretty Little Liars series, which was insane!! My mind has been blown with all of the plot twists and turns! The husband had a friend over Saturday afternoon, so I took that time to purge and clean out my bathroom as well as my closet room. It was a ton of work, but I'm glad I finally took some time to get through it. It was long overdue! I had baskets and baskets of clothes that needed to get put away, and I knew I couldn't put them away until I made more room by purging!
Hope your weekends were equally as productive! Have a great rest of week!

Great job on tackling the closet room! There are a few areas of my house that need some purging and I just can't find the motivation to do it right now. Argh. And this dress! Love the embroidery! The sandals look great with it so it was interesting to hear what you tried first and ruled out.
