Hey guys, and happy Monday! This is going to be a short and sweet post today, and the only post for the week, unfortunately. I had a mini breakdown last week and I've realized that I could use a bit of a break. It's not the blog that's stressing me out, but it's the lowest hanging fruit in terms of things I can cut back on to give myself a bit more breathing room in this thing called life and actually time to relax. I'm honestly not sure what this means long term for this blog or even for the linkup. But for now, I will share the things I've been buying lately.
Top: Gibson x Hi Sugarplum | Skirt: Express | Sandals: bp. "Laminate" | Bag: Gucci
Dot tank: I decided to try a couple of things from the Gibson x Hi Sugarplum collection. I ordered 3 things - this top, this tank, and this skirt. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering the tank and the skirt in petite small and both were extremely small on me. They just looked a bit long on the model, and I was afraid I would swim in them. Unfortunately, ordering petite was not the answer, so they will be going back and I'm not sure if I am going to try and order a second round. The dot tank though is a keeper! It fits true to size, if not just a little bit big, but it wasn't big enough for me to return. The back view is adorable, too!
Floral skirt: I always have good luck with skirts from Express, so I decided on this ruched floral one and it did not disappoint. Since it's a little body conscious, I decided to size up to a medium, which I do a lot anyway for skirts there so they hang lower on my hips vs. my natural waist. It fits great and is form fitting but not at all tight.
Camo tee: I need another off the shoulder tee like I need a hole in my head, but I couldn't resist this camo one. I have the off the shoulder tee in a couple of other colors, and when I saw the camo, I could not say no! It fits true to size.
Leopard tee: This leopard tee is very easy fitting, and almost gauzy feeling. It was such a good price, that I decided to add it to my cart. Perfect alternative to a basic tee for summer!
Stripe tie tee: I saw Kristi wearing this on her Instagram stories and that's really what forced me to go onto Express' site and start browsing in the first place! I do wish it had a little bit more of a relaxed fit, but I still took it in my normal Express size.
Makeup brushes, powder foundation, and face primer: When I was in San Antonio, I could not stop sweating! I was talking about foundation and such with some of my long-time friends, and the brushes, foundation, and primer came highly recommended by the majority of them, so I decided to try them out! I'm only a day or so into using them, so I will keep you posted on how they work out!
Ponytail hat: Speaking of purchases inspired by friends - one of my San Antonio friends was wearing a baseball cap with a hole so she could wear her hair up in a messy bun, and I decided I needed one too. It's on its way to me in navy.
Pink bikini: Top, Bottoms | Print bikini: Top, Bottoms | One Piece | Black Crochet bikini: Top, Bottoms
If you follow me on Instagram, then you already saw me share these bathing suits with you. We will be on vacation at the end of the month for 10 days, so I've been wanting to stock up on new swimwear for the year. These all run true to size if you are interested!
Sorry to hear that things have been so rough for you lately! I hope it all improves! I definitely cut back on blog stuff when things get hectic - it's my me-time so the first to go with things aren't going well, I understand.
ReplyDeleteHope things get under control again soon. THanks for still running today's link up!
Thank you for the link up!

Taking a break is a great idea. You can step back from things and see what's important and what's not.

A break is needed at times and if you are drowning then this is no longer fun. I got so excite about the ponytail hat but my hair is not skinny enough for it :(

Hang in there, my friend! We all need to take those breaks every now and then. The trick is knowing when and listening to our bodies when they tell us to slow down. So good for you. You will be back at it in no time, relaxed and better than ever. Great picks, of course, because you have fabulous style. Thanks for sharing!

Cute finds! Hope things calm down for you soon!
ReplyDeleteWell this post was full of so much good stuff, except for the one thing that makes me sad but is 100% understandable. Blogging (consistently, anyway) is a lifestyle as much as a hobby/part-time job and it can be a draining one at that so I totally get it. Glad you decided to share some goodness with us before the break. I definitely need to try one of those hats!

ReplyDeleteNo worries, I think most of us understand how hard you work outside of the blog and you definitely deserve a break! Especially since it's almost Summer, I think blog schedules relax a bit for a lot of people who just want to enjoy the weather :)
